Bee is only seven years old when she starts her first garden. Her parents, who support everything she does, are the ones who rub the aloe cream into her arms and cheeks every night, the ones who bring her lemonade on the days that are especially hot. Her brother gives her a lot to think about, a new perspective of the world. But something happens to change the life Bee leads, drastically. And all she has left is a traumatized brother and a few little green stalks that are struggling to grow up, just like her.
