In the duration of time The Golden Trio spent searching for Horcruxes, more torture was going on at Hogwarts than education. Upon the victory of The Battle Of Hogwarts, the new Headmistress - Professor McGonagall - invites all students to redo their pervious year - and that includes Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy, who are appointed Head Girl and Head Boy. The war is finally over and Hermione Granger is returning to Hogwarts to finish her education, but due to the many casualties from the war, the wizarding population has dropped by 50%, The new ministry had now reinstated the soul pairing law. And to Hermione bad luck (she thinks)is paired with her enemy Draco Malfoy. Can Hermione Granger, The brightest witch of her generation handle the stress marrying her sworn enemy? Set After the Battle at Hogwarts. EXCERPT: "You were lonely," Hermione realized. When she said, Draco's shoulders slumped, as if he carried a great weight on them. "Yes," he said in resignation. "It is incredibly lonely to be Draco Malfoy, and it is your...closeness, your friendship, that I shall always be jealous of." Hermione edged closer to him, "We're friends now," she said. Were they? Hermione didn't know what they were. Two people bound together by a mutual restlessness. "Is that what we are?" Draco inquired with amusement. "We're having a civil conversation so I assume that's what we are. Draco studied her. His expression no longer held its death-like blankness. He looked thoughtful. Then he stuck a pale hand out, "Hello, my name is Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." Hermione laughed, "Hermione Granger," she said, taking his hand. Draco folded his hand around his hers and shook it. Hermione stared at their clasped hands, "What is this, Draco?" she asked. Draco met her eyes, "A fresh start."

After the war Hogwarts was rebuilt and reopened. Among the many students returning to school are Hermione and Draco who are a few of those finishing their 7th year. Though things won't be as crazy as they are used to, one event imperticular holds promise.

One year after the Great battle, Hermione Granger has made the decision to return to Hogwarts and further her education as a special advanced student instead of accepting the very tempting offer from St Mungos to become a healer straight after the battle, unlike Ron and Harry who jumped at the offer from the ministry to become aurors without a second thought. Hermione was never one to accept a position she had not earned, therefore asking for a year to complete her schooling and write her N.E.W.T.s before accepting the position. Draco Malfoy, despite the prosecution he knows he might receive, has also decided to complete his advanced Hogwarts education. Over the past year he has remained locked up in Malfoy manor - a house now considered by locals to be haunted by the ghost of Lucius Malfoy after his death at the hands of aurors while trying to escape after the great battle because screams and cries could often be heard from the walls - due to the haunting realization of what he had done, and the torturous memories he had to endure. But now he has to face his fears and earn the forgiveness of those he has hurt, starting with the woman he treated like scum.
