MY ENTRY TO THE SEPTEMBER LEGENDS SCIENCE FICTION COMPETITON Who can tell the difference between an old legend and a true story turned myth? The truth is that many of the oldest tales in this universe are in fact warnings, warnings from those who are already lost. When the line between myth and reality is so thin and wavering, there are those who fall through it, those who become legends. Read this short science fiction story which tells about the truth of the universe itself, in its own creepy way. Note - I do not own the images used.

^Completed with minor editing^ When Soralyn Walker moves to a new home to escape a stalker that knows just a little bit too much about her life, she never expects to find others with her strange ability to morph into another creature. And the young adult would never expect to find a lion alpha that had the ability to irk her and make her stomach fill with butterflies at the same time. Read along and find out the obstacles Soralyn and her mate have to overcome to find happiness, even if that means enduring a few scars in the end. *I'm really sucky at writing descriptions; sorry. This isn't a story where some shifter meets the alpha and falls madly in love but is just as quick to suspect him of cheating because of some harlot in red whispering in her ear. There's nothing wrong with that sort of story, but I wanted something new. Please take a peek if you think this is something you might enjoy, just to spice it up a notch! Thank you!*

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. That was much more graceful. But a wing-assisted hop wasn't true flight. And I still wasn't on the windowsill. ---------------------------- Entire semi-polished draft can be read on Wattpad. "I live in a world of superheroes and super villains, but I never thought that one day I would fly among them." Ryan didn't really think much of himself, he was the average teen, just making his way through school, having a laugh with his friends, learning about Superheroes, and suddenly, he's wearing a mask and flying about the city, and learning about his secret identity in Superhero studies, and watching his brother play with a lego figure of, well, HIM.
