While Ashley is recovering from her suicide attempt and juggling her struggle to recover, Adam must handle the reality of having two families. One with his wife and two young children, the other with his ex-girlfriend and previous cancer patient teenager. Adam must take on the responsibility of making time, and caring for, his 3 children along with their mothers. Adam's marriage starts to be put to the test when Adam spends more time with Jane and Ashley. Adam's defense is that he needs to get to know his daughter and wants to make up his lost 16 years. Kaci is starting to lose faith in Adam and starts to believe that he's falling back in love with Jane. Adam starts to become angrier with Kaci when she starts being distant, but wasn't he doing the same to her? In Adam's mind, he's done nothing wrong. He's just trying to juggle the double life he never thought he would have. But, Adam knows that only time will tell what happens in his future. And time won't exactly be the nicest to the former rockstar. Because we can never know what our future holds. All we can do is live in the moment.
