Children shouldn't have to play with IV lines attached to the back of their hands. But they do. Cancer made it so. Here are some stories of some of those brave kids I have met in some of those playrooms. To be honest I never wanted to able to tell these stories. I didn't want to have a reason to go into those rooms. But, as bad luck would have it, I will visit these rooms on and off for a while with my grandson Andre. There is sadness here, but there is also so much hope.

There are some excellent storytellers with some excellent books on this site and you have NEVER HEARD OF MOST OF THEM. I am not talking about the people that got a million votes for finding every popular cliche on the planet and sticking them in one book. I am talking about people that know how to write. The ones that understand human nature and writing and know how to put them together. They write what they know and know what they write. They don't want to be like anybody else and they don't like to follow all the rules. Good honest prose is not a popular thing on Wattpad, but it is with me. So here are some of my favorite writers on Wattpad. I follow them all, and all for different reasons. Some of them will make you cry, others piss you off, and others will make you wish you were smart enough to figure them out. You will be amazed at the rawness of some of the stories and at both the complexity and simplicity of some of the storytelling. Other times you won't know what to think. But at all times I am sure you will think to yourself "Damn, now this, this is a writer".

Based on a true story. By all accounts, Jorge Salas was a good man. He was a well known and well respected businessman, doting husband, and loving father. Many of the older officers in the department knew him well. Unfortunately, when I first met him he was lying dead in the office of his own business with 3 bullets in him. Follow me while I chase rumors of cartel assassins, disgruntled employees, missing money, bloated insurance claims, and a cheating wife. The truth will shock you.

From the corporate life desk job, to mop and bucket, and now a life of catheters, BP cuffs and again the occasional mop... Becoming Not Quite a Nurse, as some might call it, my crazy life continues on! Now joining me is Hon. Hon 'Her Own Nut!' As in crazy nut bar! Get your mind out of the gutter. Sheesh! This is the collection of quirky and enlightening stories form the PSW days. That's 'Personal Support Worker' in case you're not familiar. We are the ones that do everything the nurse's do except administer medications, wound care, and anything that actually penetrates the patient. Which seriously turns out to be a load of horse 'dodo' because we 'do do' all those thing. And then some! Need catheter care? How about DBS? Digital Bowl Stimulations are considered a really crappy job, but necessary for some patients. Tis my specialty! I am told I can bug the sh*t out of anybody, and that's a real complement in this industry!! Not Quite a Nurse? Sure what ever they say. But, I wouldn't trade my job for the world! More unbelievable situations as only the Cleaning Lady can seem to get in. Still, believe them, they are again ALMOST all true! --- FOLLOW MACJANNY ON FACEBOOK! This is a series of stories based on observations I have made while drinking coffee at Starbucks. Years of training as an investigator gives me little choice but to accidentally look into the lives of people I see. I don't do this so I can have something to write about. I do this because this is what I do. It just comes natural now. You would be surprised at the stories that are sitting right in front of you if you just knew what to look for. Cover by @Setalmage

These are the stories of the people I have met during my over 20 year career in law-enforcement. They are all true. Some of them are ugly, others sad, but some are hopeful. Some of these people are on paths you can predict, others will surprise you. Whatever the case you will see that we all are a bit closer to each other than you think. We are all human and fall. Some of us get up. Some of us don't. There is something to learn from all of it.
