“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all...People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters.”
-Jim Morrison

16-year-old Katie Haffer has been trying to run from her pain ever since her dad and brother died in a tragic accident; she always protects herself from any emotional vulnerability with a laugh and a smile. However, when she meets Matthew Gribbs, she feels that the barriers she's been building up for five years are beginning to break down.
Will she embrace Matthew into her life, or will she push him away like other people before him? Will she learn to move on from the past, or will she continue to let it dominate her life?
(I'm always changing and adding stuff,
so stay tuned!)
Also, the beginning is a bit dull, but BEAR WITH ME IT GETS GOOD I PROMISE D:
