She's hopeless and defenseless. She was always the strong one making sure everybody was okay and then she cracked. Emory was always the talkative type, the one who laughed at the simplest things, and the one who was happy. After that day, her life turned upside down. She didn't talk anymore, people considered her mute. She transformed into a girl who only communicated by writing on a white board. Her life would never be the same again so what was the point. She thought all of this until she met, well saw, a boy in the park who didn't look at her with sadness or pity because he just didn't know yet. This is the story of how Emory has to deal with being a girl with a whiteboard.

I decided when writing what might be the last poem in my poetry book "Seeking Hope in Poetry" that the poem "A new year" is about new beginnings and fresh starts for the new year, it would make sense to start a new poetry book. I can't say for certain what the poems will be about because I myself am not fully sure but I can assure you that I will do my best to make them full of hope and inspiration. I do hope you enjoy them and before I begin writing them I want to say a huge thank you to you, my readers for all you positive feedback and kindness in reading my poetry.
