It is also a season of perpetual busyness and endless (sometimes forced) effervescence which begins right after Halloween and doesn’t let up until New Year’s. That’s a long stretch of merry making for anyone suffering from depression, struggling with an addiction, grappling with the loss of a loved one or healing from a broken heart. Sometimes, the holidays simply aren’t that happy.

They wanted to make A Christmas Carol of their own. So they did.
