Naomi and her cousin, Blue, are going to Spain for the summer. Even though they are Latino and Latina they know absolutely nothing about their culture. Naomi feels as if it is time to see what the Latina half of her is all about since her mother bailed out on her and her dad right after she was born. Blue wants to go with Naomi (to be the "protective cousin"), but more importantly he was born in Spain. He wants to learn about his background since his adoptive parents won't tell him anything. Once Naomi and Blue are in Spain, a whirlwind of adventures happen to them. They start to get a little taste of what being a Latino and Latina is all about with the help of new found friends Mateo and Damian. Damian is a salsa and bachata dancing bad boy. As well as a song writer who knows every trick in the book to woo a girl. Mateo is a Latino rapping fútbol player that makes everything in life like a roller coaster. Be careful that he doesn't flip you upside down... Once you are on the ride, you don't want to get off. Blue and Naomi get more than what they expected: love triangles, shocking discoveries, and having the past and present define the person they really are. Why did they ever think this trip would be just for fun?

Jackie Cachowski, sister of Carl Cachowski, is pretty much in love with Sylvain Evans. They both work at a record store, and it is very awkward for the two. Catherine Fries, Jackie's best friend, works at a burger shop and lives in the apartment above the shop. She is adopted, and she is in love with Carl, which makes Jackie gag. Together, despite their awkwardness and some disappointments, they create one heck of a band!

As I make my towards the group of boys I can't help but to feel anxious. I should get a grip because I mean look, they're just boys. "Dude that's insane," I hear a guy say followed by laughter. Boys are so loud. I continue to walk towards them when I hear another guy shout," Look out!" I realize the sound is coming from right behind me. As I turn around all I can see is blonde hair and then the ground. *** Tap tap tap. "Ugh," I groan sleepily as I turn over once again. I wish that tree would stop scratching the window. Tap tap tap. Okay, that's it. What the frick is this tree doing tapping a window? Right as I stand up in anger I am automatically softened when I see Troy's face.
