Alicia Hill is a girl who can't agree with the laws. In fact, she's so troubled that she gets sent to an academy for teens with bad attitudes - Blackcurrant Academy for Lost Souls. The academy's mission is to transform Alicia from a bitter blackcurrant to a sweet and pleasant strawberry. She detests the school environment, the food and the strict rules - but that isn't the worst part. In the girls' dorm there's a man who calls himself 'Boss'. He's the dorm's peace-keeper and will not accept anything but respect from the girls. Alicia immediately starts to dislike 'Boss' and he makes sure that she knows that he doesn't appreciate her either. He is constantly taunting Alicia, but she puts up with it - until one day when she snaps and starts working on a plan to murder 'Boss'.

With a closet full of secrets and a limited amount of time, two teens spend ninety nine consecutive nights trying to solve the murder of their childhood friend that has damaged their town and everyone in it.
