When I first saw her, all I wanted to do was protect her from this cruel world. Despite how the world was cruel to her, she remains bright as ever. She was fair, maybe because she was always pale, she has a long, straight brown hair, her eyes sparkled at the sight of birds chirping from their backyard, she had the most beautiful smile, so when I got the chance to see her do so, I could not help but smile as well.
"I will protect bright, Kuya! I will grow strong when I grow up." His older brother smiled at me, "I am sure delighted to hear that, kid. Bright doesn't have that many friends. I hope you two get along well."
I tried approaching her as gently as possible, but every time I did, she would drift farther away from me. Until it occurred to me that maybe I should just look out for her from afar. And so I did, for years.
Until one day, our world collided, and we grew closer.
"Why do you like hanging around here?" I asked out of curiosity while I stared at her. She was feeling the breeze, letting it slap her face with the cool air it gives, while she let her long brown hair dance with the wind. Her eyes were shut close, but she opened them to stare into mine, getting lost in her hazel eyes, she answered. "The feeling of being up high feels like I'm one amongst the clouds. As if I were free and happy, soaring high beneath the sky." There she goes again with her captivating smile that always brings me joy, she sure is bright...My bright.
And from then on, I kept a promise to myself that when the right time comes, I will surely make you feel that you are soaring beneath the skies.
