Book 2 in the Rose Chronicles:
Secrets were never meant to be kept.
Willow, previously known as the Black Rose, struggles to deny the truth of her past as it surges forward. Secrets that she thought were long buried are brought to light, bringing the pain of her past to the forefront. It doesn't help that the ninja are intent on prying. But can she bring herself to really trust them with it, or maybe even to let them in?
Trust is a two way road.
The ninja fight to break down Willow's walls. They trust her with their lives, why can't she just trust them? Every conversation with her seems to stand on thin ice, and they're not sure how much longer they can take it. And with doom hanging over their heads as the Black King searches for a way to regain his power, they're not sure how much longer they can trust her with how little she's telling them.
The pending tension breaks when a letter from Trylle, land of the Fays, is sent to bring Willow back for a trial where she is charged for losing the black pearl. She has no choice but to leave, and the ninja follow her into a land of wonders and incredible danger. How much longer can Willow suppress her past? How much longer till her walls break?
How much longer until her destiny becomes undeniable?
