I love the players. He loves the game. (CONFUSING-THIS IS MY FIRST BOOK SO IT SUCKS. WARNING. ONLY ON WATTPAD FOR NOSTALGIC PURPOSES. Written and completed on June 2012. Rewritten version now available on my profile called 'The Accidental Partner') #69 in Humour and #100 in Romance Important Note: Readers are wondering why I will be revising/remaking this book. It is because I regard my novel with a critical but not cruel eye, for it is a work of my one-and-only imagination and deserves to be made even better.

"One night. That's all I want. I promise I won't expect anything more than what you offer." She murmured, pleadingly and reached back to the zipper. Her dress slipped down and pooled at her feet, exposing her sweet little body to me. Doing my absolute best to look away, I swallowed hard and shook my head. I needed to get her out of here and home in her own damn bed before I changed my fucking mind, plow through that little barrier that was keeping her innocent, and let her learn the hard way. "Damnit, Hart. Put your dress back on. I can't do this. I'm trying my best to stay out of trouble. You are trouble." "Please..." She begged quietly. "I won't be clingy. I won't say anything to anyone. No one will ever know. I promise." As she began to beg me, my eyes lifted to her and my mind began flipping through the excuses I could use to let her down gently. But when I caught a glimpse of her scantily clad body, I knew right then and there I was fucked. Utter perfection. Me being the reckless Burkhalter I was- I threw caution to the wind as soon as I saw flesh. Fuck my parents. Fuck hard work and responsibility. Fuck being the good son I was supposed to be. Tomorrow is another day. A new beginning. Tonight, she's mine. Arrogant and reckless Austin Burkhalter's life has been thrown off the track after being thrown in the drunk tank for the second time in less than a month. In order for him to get his precious lifestyle back, his parents are sending him to live and work on a farm in a small town in Mississippi where he must learn the definition of hard work and responsibility. Everything changes when he is faced with the beautiful and innocent southern belle Elizabeth Hart, the farmer's daughter. From the moment he meets her, he knows things are going downhill for the both of them. After one night of pure lust and pent-up desire, they are both faced with life-altering bittersweet betrayal.

#1 Teen Fiction | #1 Young Adult | #1 Romance "We all need someone to drive us mad." - The Wombats. He stared arrogantly down at me, a smirk plastered across his face. I sneered up at him with distaste, wanting to wrap my fingers around his neck and strangle that smirk off of him. He brushed my golden hair from my face, his long, slender fingers sparking electricity in my skin, making my knees wobble together. "Will you ever, forgive me?" he whispered huskily, his eyes intently staring into mine. His face was only mere inches from me. I just needed to reach out a little further to kiss him... "Yeah. Over my dead body." I snapped, before throwing my arms out forcefully, shoving my hands into his chest, pushing him from me. -*-*-*- He, is Carter Williams. I, am Lacey Adams. We were once, inseparable. The 'Golden Couple'. The unbreakable best friends, that everybody envied. Nothing could get between us. A part from being tighter than white on rice, we updated our status from friends to being in a relationship, frequently. We were neighbours, which meant our families were all close and even co-owned houses around our town. This, all is, until the day of my sixteenth birthday. Everything changed. The loving relationship we shared, was severed and torn apart. I couldn't hardly stand to look at him any more, without spitting fire that is. Every day is torture being around him. He was in all my classes at school and the window in my room was even directly aligned with his. So, what happens? My mother's mum gets sick, so dad and her fly out. Just them. Leaving me to stay with Carter and his parents, who are never home. We would be alone. In one house. Under the same roof. If I was insane before, I have no idea what I am now. © 2016 by LaurenJ22. And that’s before she gets mugged. At her wit's end, May washes up at a Packers bar in Greenwich Village, where she meets a surly, unhelpful guy who hates her shoes and calls her ex a douche. His name is Ben. He used to be a chef. Now he's a rooftop beekeeper with anger management issues. She wouldn't even like him, but he reminds her of home … and he knows where to find all the best food in the Village. She makes him laugh. He buys her tacos and cowboy boots. Shawna Roberts is the girl that every guy turns to when they need a fake date, a fake girlfriend, a fake fling to make some other girl jealous, a fake couple photo to send to their parents... Shawna's pretty much seen it all. But no matter what they pay her for, everything she does has one common factor: it's all fake. That doesn't make being their paid girl much easier, though. Adam Ferrell is the campus heartthrob with the appearance of a god, an ego the size of Canada, and worshiped by everyone to monumentally ridiculous proportions. In Shawna's mind, it's a miracle his head fits through his shirt every morning. Yet despite their instant dislike for one another, Adam and Shawna each need what the other can offer. When Adam unexpectedly pushes into Shawna's life with a business deal, she's torn between her feelings and her sense of duty, which protects a secret she has kept for years, from even those closest to her. And as the two begrudgingly get to know each other, masks start slipping and secrets come spilling out, forcing each of them to confront some of their darkest moments and deepest fears.
