Meet Dan and Phil. The boys are roommates at university, Phil being the quiet one with stage freight and Dan is the loud, outgoing one. Phil prefers his books. Dan prefers his band. Phil is good in school. Dan is good at beer pong. The two are completely different and rarely communicate, so when the lead singer of Dan's band drops out, he becomes desperate and has heard Phil singing one too many times. Then suddenly Phil is a part of the band and they're sleeping in a bus on a worldwide tour. [rated R for drug/alcohol use, sexual references and language]

A boy raised around religion and the discounts for sin, Phil Lester is definitely not one to go around looking for trouble. With his father being the vicar of their local church, Phil has a lot to live up to and has to keep his reputation high if he's to be accepted. He doesn't do parties or drinking; the thought of sex alone is enough to terrify him. So it's no wonder that when Dan Howell, a boy who embraces the life of parties and rebellious acts, shows up to join the church program, Phil starts having trouble keeping himself sane as he tries to teach Dan the path to God. Dan is still figuring himself out. Neither of them have anyone to talk to, so a simple tutoring gig quickly turns into something more meaningful. And while they both might be terrified of that change, it's kind of hard to avoid it when they can see directly into each other's bedroom windows.

Dan and Phil's friendship has ended. They moved out from their flat and went their separate ways. Phil has tried to keep in touch with Dan, but he never answers. All of his emails are unanswered, but that doesn't mean Dan never reads them.
