Hadley Jamison doesn't know what to think when she hears that her classmate, Archer Morales, committed suicide. She didn't exactly know him, but that doesn't stop her from feeling like there was something she could have done to help him. So to Hadley's surprise, on the very night of Archer's funeral, she has a run in with Death himself and is offered the chance to go back in time to stop Archer from ending his life. The catch? She only has twenty-seven days to do it. And if Hadley doesn't succeed? Well, she doesn't want to think about that.

"Even though his family is broken just like mine, he won’t understand what I did. If I tell him what I did, he’ll think I’m just like the rest of them – fake. But then again, maybe I am just like them." Presley Adams' doesn't know what to do with her life anymore. Her brother Logan is doing drugs, and she suspects her parents of cheating on each other. The only thing that's a constant in her life is her best friend Dakoda, and she's appreciative of that. After everything that Presley's been through, she deserves to have somebody in her life that doesn't leave her. Soon enough though, Presley learns that nobody sticks around forever, and it just really sucks for her that it took her fifteen years to discover that.

And so it begins. The classic coming of age story about a twentysomething girl, finding her way in the city. After graduating (with an Arts degree- questionable choice, but we'll learn about that later) she finds a one bedroom apartment and she buys a cat. Life is sweet. She's a living, breathing, cat-hugging cliche of a single girl. To many people that's how it looks from the outside, that's about as interesting as it gets, and maybe, that's even where the story ends. But that girl is me, and unless I am a total wet blanket, I think we both know thats hardly all there is to tell. The more you get to know people, the more you learn that almost no-one is living their life like it appears from the outside. I'm going to tell you what its really like to be a twentysomething, to live alone, dabble in online dating, attempt to navigate my first functional relationship, work for the boss from hell, and try to find my feet in "this economy". Come on, you know what I mean. But before we can even get to that part of the story, you have to understand how the story begins. So here goes nothing...

[This book has officially been published and only a sample remains. See inside for details.] Nora Montgomery's primary goal was to remain seemingly unnoticed until graduation, and that meant staying away from Ryder Collins. But when both she and Ryder are selected to participate in the local police department's handcuff demonstration, they find themselves inescapably chained together. The tension between them is thick; filled with unresolved issues from their past friendship. But things get a whole lot worse when the officer loses the key and the pair are forced to accommodate each other until a replacement is available. Being handcuffed to the opposite gender was sure to introduce some extremely uncomfortable situations. Things are about to get awkward, right? 2013 Watty Awards Winner Most Popular, Mystery//Thriller
