The mountains conspired against the rest of the territories, stealing the sun from the sky as it set and tucking it behind their peaks. The rest of the world was left to watch the last of the fiery rays smothered out into an indigo dusk. Cats huddled in the gloom around a limp loved one, their faces buried in her blood-stained pelt. It had been too soon. Death always arrived too soon, though, and no one can escape it forever. -- ☼ -- This short story tells the farewell of beloved former Driftclan leader and mother, Sunshower. Despite her controversy, she was a respected and well-liked cat among all of the clans, and her passing marked a dark point in history for many cats. There is physical fighting and mentions of blood in this story, and although it is not overly gory, if you dislike mentions of blood, this is not the story for you. Sunshower is a character of my creation (and her friends and family are creations of my friends), but the world she lived in was built by MFGC, and the concept of warriors belongs to Erin Hunter and the Warriors series. Credit for certain aspects of this story goes to them respectively.

Hero pretty much has this whole life thing figured out. Ever since he was a kit, he has had the astounding ability to find any object, item, or creature that he sets his mind to. He spends his days sleeping on the sunlit window of his two-leg partner's workshop, and his nights out prowling the city on the hunt for danger. But when he meets with an unfortunate circumstance and finds himself among the cats of one of legendary wild Clans, it's not a matter of whether he's ready for an adventure, but a matter of whether adventure's ready for him. Prophecies are works about journeys and saving clans via StarClan's designated cats. StarClan can't predict everything though, right? Sparkfur is hated by much of her clan. She's much more intelligent than any other cat, she's sassy, and an annoyance. They have half a mind to kick her out, but at the same time, they would never put the deputy's sister in the dangers of being a loner. That's the difference about DrizzleClan and its fellow bordering clans: the rogues are savages that will murder any lone cat in cold blood if they don't join up with the growing Rogue band. So no blunt prophecy from the heavens, but we do have Sparkfur and her tense-relationship with her brother Berryfoot to stop the massacres. Or at least attempt to. // Contains darker themes (such as death, gore, etc.) and may cause one heartbreak. Includes art for most chapters by me. Started : September 12, 2015 Finished : March 30, 2016

"It is forbidden for a reason, young one. Love makes you weak, a fraction of yourself. It keeps you from being the best you can be and that is why we must mask it. Ambition, intelligence, strength - now those are qualities that will get you through this harsh life. But being loving, compassionate, kind? Those are the best ways to get yourself killed." Generations after the Masked Uprising and the fall of StarClan, DarkClan's way of life is no less harsh. Emotions are strictly forbidden and any talk of the Old Life is considered treasonous and punishable by death. It is in this cruel setting that Nightpaw finds himself apprenticed to the only cat with an ounce of freedom: the truth-teller, a cat specifically chosen by the Masked to remember the history of DarkClan. Yet, Nightpaw doubts the truth in the truth-teller's stories and finds them even harder to reconcile when he is visited by someone he'd been taught no longer exists. Caught between fear and curiosity, the truth-teller's apprentice finds himself stuck between two versions of the Clan's history - two truths where there should only be one. And he will stop at nothing until the truth is unmasked. // I have the story rated as teen. Please be warned that there will be a lot of bloodshed and dark matters discussed in this novel.
