Sora, a normal 16 year old islander moved to the country part of Kentucky, where his step father got a new job. He really didn't have neighbors, except for a house that was around the corner from them. The person who lived there ended up being Sora's childhood best friend, Riku, who was 18 years old. They were both home schooled, so it was easier for them to catch up. But oh, have the gears turned for the two teens.
