Oliver Storm is just your average American teenager. Well, unless you count the fact that he's actually White Lightning, sidekick to the notorious superhero Captain Impossible. But after a faulty save that leaves Captain Impossible dead, Oliver is left to be his city's savior in spandex. And following in the footsteps of Washington DC's favorite super isn't as easy as you'd think, especially when the culprit behind his death is closer than he thought. With Oliver starting his junior year in high school, things become more complicated. Trying to balance saving the world and school can be hard enough, but throw in his overprotective mother and a villain by the name of Delinquent who Oliver can't shake, being a hero by day is going to be impossible. As Oliver starts to unravel the truth behind Captain Impossible's death, he finds that maybe not all villains are bad. And maybe Delinquent and Oliver have more in common than they thought. *companion novel to Damsel in Distress series*

Aden Dashner is thinking that he just might have superpowers. After an accident a week ago, he now seems to be stronger than he was before - like, superhuman strong. Aden's long-time bully, Dylan Danvers, was also in the same accident, and he seemed to get off clean with no powers, until a mysterious new super villain shows up in DC with fire at his fingertips and sticky fingers. And after finding out that Oliver Storm himself is DC's own savior in spandex, White Lightning, and that he wants Aden to be his sidekick, Aden didn't think his life could get any weirder. On top of that, his girlfriend, Elise Howerton, has just seemed to figure out said secret identity. And the infamous villain, Andromeda, has finally seemed to have disappeared from Oliver's life.
