Othello (The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice) is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in 1603. It is based on the story Un Capitano Moro ("A Moorish Captain") by Cinthio, a disciple of Boccaccio, first published in 1565. The story revolves around its two central characters: Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army and his unfaithful ensign, Iago. Given its varied and enduring themes of racism, love, jealousy, betrayal, revenge and repentance, Othello is still often performed in professional and community theatre alike, and has been the source for numerous operatic, film, and literary adaptations. We will be releasing our new album, Sometime Last Night, on July 10 and three days before that, we’ll hit the road for their very own headlining tour across the U.S. “It’s going to be awesome,” Ross Lynch, 19, revealed when he and brother Riker Lynch, 23, called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday morning to talk about the tour and the band’s second album. “We’re super excited to tour again!” Fans who attend R5 concerts often get to meet and hang out with the band after the show and sometimes those can turn into a frenzy, but they wouldn’t have it any other way, say Riker and Ross. “We play smaller venues and we pack it with people that have been to a lot of other events, so we’ve seen these fans all over the place, so they feel comfortable enough with us to just hang out, which is why we do the shows,” the brothers explain. “We just want to play live and create a relationship with our fans.” Also on Monday, R5 dropped the music video for their first single off Sometime Last Night, “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight“: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvCQuc98Dlc Pre-order Sometime Last Night and check out all the dates for R5’s upcoming summer tour as of Tuesday, April 14) throughout the U.S.
