Is one person's life of more value than the world? Elizabeth Park is a college drop-out and conspiracy theorist who lost her scholarship, a valuable internship, and her direction in life when she blew the whistle on her unethical boss. Confident that her scientific career is over, Elizabeth looks for work elsewhere while trying to come up with enough evidence to support her actions against her former employer, lauded scientist Petra Compton. Until... she is approached by The Disease Institute, a government initiative founded to cure diseases before they turn into pandemics. Elizabeth is offered an internship that will bring back all her hopes in exchange for the months of research she spent on one topic: the possibility of a zombie apocalypse caused by medical experimentation. The institute hopes to use Elizabeth's research along with the confession of one man to cure the disease. That man is an enigma, someone they only refer to as Zero, for he seems to have no name. Through her work, Elizabeth spends time with Zero, and discovers him to be more than just the first victim of a horrifically violent disease. As secrets unwind themselves and fear mounts, desperate choices are presented that could change Elizabeth forever... and save or destroy the world.

Do not let the Watchmen catch you. Do not let the Chancellor find your notebook. Do not let the man in the long coat know you're alive. These are the rules Kilter has survived alone in the streets of the quarantined city of Istravol by for years. And he's tired of it. All he wants is to understand the cryptic marks inside the notebook he's had for as long as he can remember, and so get out. Because if the Chancellor who is scared of nothing but the Reavers outside the city wants that notebook, it must be worth something. At least, that's what old Dmal, Kilter's only friend, says. And he's right. When both Dmal and the Chancellor stumble upon the first thing from his notebook that Kilter's ever seen in real life - a gleaming feather - the legends and secrets of Istravol's history come rushing into the present. It's not sickness that keeps Istravol, and Kilter, locked under the Chancellor's control, but a blood feud. A blood feud spurred by the legacy of the notebook and Kilter himself, and the force that could either destroy or restore it all: hope. But will hope be enough to mend the past and save the future and a world Kilter never knew he belonged in? Armed with only the feather and notebook, he has only one chance to find out: catch it before anyone else does. ~~~ An exploration of courage, identity, love, and grief, THE PHOENIX THIEF is complete at 150,000 words, and readers seeking adventure and a dash of magic will find it a satisfying escape.

Very few are aware of the existence of an underground network of merchants known only as the Traders. They deal not in material goods, but memories, emotion, and inherent traits. Their clients are the world's cesspool of wretched, unwanted, and lost. By joining their ranks as an apprentice, Nicola believes she is fulfilling a wild fantasy. As one of Her Majesty's Fire-keepers, the soal (solar coal) Viridian LeVoy collects provides energy and safety to thousands, and a paycheck that gives her the first real freedom she's ever had. But soal is growing scarce, and with it Viridian's own hope for a future she gave up everything for. Riding the chaos of a looming energy crises, the Guild, the most infamous burgling syndicate in the empire, have resurfaced. Like all Fire-keepers, Viridian is in the way of their underground energy market. Targeted and without backup, she's chased into the unknown Far-Flung Territory, her own energy reserves near empty, and not only her job but everything she's come to love at risk. But don't worry, blokes: things can, indeed, get worse. Among the massive forests and faultline-vapours of the Far-Flung Territory, Viridian stumbles upon two world-shattering discoveries: the true nature of not only soal, but the empire it fuels. Suddenly, all her loyalties - to her past, her country, and those she loves - are called into question. Problem is, neither the Guild or the Empire want her making up her mind. They've plans of their own. Perhaps even with each other. ~~~ Inspired by the land Down Under, the aviatrix of the 40s, and the leaps in space exploration taking place today, THE FIRE-KEEPER combines retro-futuristic rocketship dogfights, deadly megafauna, a dash of wild-west adventure, and a good dosing of snark. Action-packed and emotional, it will appeal to fans of action/adventure and speculative fiction such as FIREFLY, AGENT CARTER, and WYNONNA EARP. ~~~ This manuscript is currently in its first draft. Chapters will be added as they are finished. It is rated MATURE for language, depictions of violence, and mentions of abuse.
