Broken bottles on the floor
A small knock at the door
Im being taken far away
And not just for the week or day
This horrible house ill flee
Now im safe but still cant see
My legs are left paralyzed
And my eyes have been left blind
My mummy doesnt live
And my sister doesnt breathe
My fathers now in jail
And I am finally free
Im no longer suffering
And Im leaving this broken household
With the broken life
Broken family
And broken bottles on the floor
------------------------------------------------------
When a 14 year old girl who acts a whole lot older finally is free from the horrible life she had and the pain she dealt with though left to deal with the death of her mother and sister. Aubrey Walters is finally free and sent to an orphanage with nothing but her teddy bear, the tears stained on her face, the bruises and scars, horrifying memories but mostly...HOPE. Enough hope to make it through these tough times and new beginning.
"I don't think your dangerous, I think your brave, we all are, we fight through what's hard, we cry but that only defines that we are brave." -Aubrey
(I own poem just saying)
