At sa 'di inaasahan, nabuo ang isang kakaibang pagkakaibigan sa pagitan ng isang batang babaeng malakas ang loob kahit pa ipinanganak na may sakit sa puso, at isang binatang lalaki na tila ba'y mukhang pasan ang problema ng buong mundo. Ang paglipas ng panahon ay siyang naging saksi sa pagkalalim ng damdamin ni Sarah para kay Bamboo, at ang kanyang pagamin ng nararamdaman ay siya 'ring sumira ng magandang samahang kanilang iningatan sa loob ng sampung taon. Umalis si Bamboo ng bansa, na hindi sila nagkakaayos at naiwan namang bigo sa pag-ibig si Sarah. Makalipas ang anim na taon ay muli silang pinagtagpo ng tadhana, kung kailan malala na ang kondisyon ng sakit sa puso ni Sarah.
