Winner of October 2015 Hannah Arlene Writing Contest (AWC). A young man visits El Dorado Kansas on a business hunch, but instead is directed to an old, haunted art museum. There, he encounters an art portrait of a beautiful woman entitled "To Leave A Lady a Rose." Inspired, the young man leaves a rose at the foot of the picture, and his life is forever changed in an unexpected way. Any and all apologies to the great people of El Dorado Kansas, and the family and estate of Marion Koogler McNay. Dedicated to my wife and to all moms out there.

Winner of the September Serenade writing contest! Krista is no stranger to magic. She lives in the woods of Fard, a place where magical creatures--both friendly and unfriendly--roam free. One day, a creature known as an Elder gives her a small jar of lightning with two explicit instructions: 1) Deliver the jar to a trapped faerie. 2) Do not open the jar. But as she embarks on her journey and encounters others who have jars of their own, she begins to wonder what makes these jars so special, and who is this mysterious faerie who needs it...
