I was never meant to leave that room. I had spent my whole life in there, imagining what it was like on the outside. I looked forward to the day when I would finally be allowed to leave. But that day was never supposed to come. Until James decided to keep his promise. He had always been there, on the other side of the glass. Waiting. The experiment wasn't over. He was still waiting for me to change. But I didn't change. Not until that night. It was dark, and there was rain. The sound of the car engine was loud, but the crash was louder. In the crash, I became something different. I changed. But not for James. This new part of me emerged for one reason; to save her. The neutrois humanoid was cloaked in white, chains hugging their wrists and binding them to an unseen wall. "I know," it muttered quietly, deliberately. "I know you, know you-- " Somehow I knew they were referring to my celestial DNA. There was still a ghostly tone in their voice. "Help us," it whispered. "Drowning, smothered--" They began to fade away, but even when I couldn't see them anymore, their vague voice still ran rampant through my head, between the folds of my very soul. "Help us." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, my name is Agnes, and I'm a basic high school student. I have friends. I have enemies. I have a buttload of homework 24/7. I have problems. Very big problems. 1) I have a secret-- one that would probably make you laugh at first, then stop and ponder its true meaning after the initial surprise. And if that secret escapes, my very life will be at stake. 2) There is a spiritual disease spreading faster than the Black Death and roughly seven times as detrimental to mankind. 3) I have very human friends who have very human limitations and ways of thinking. 4) My body, as opposed to my soul, isn't in its natural state. And than can be very compromising when you're trying to stop the spread of spiritual corruption and you can't even find its source. Yep, I'm on a mission to put a stop to this nonsense. Not by my own choice, of course, but who can say 'no' when The Big G Himself asks you to do something this important? Think I can't do it? You're on. Both images on cover from deviantart. She cuts her hair, takes her steed and disappears into the night with her father's men hot on her heels. Enter Kaladin's team. Occupation: Mercenaries. Lyra uses skills taught to her by a close, childhood friend and plays herself into the trust of the dangerous strangers until they accept her, or rather, "Navani", into their group. What will happen to her once they see through her web of lies and tricks? Will Lyra give herself up as Princess when she is reunited with her long-lost friend, or will she carry on as a boy with the mercenaries? Follow Lyra to see what she will do when she comes to realize that things have gotten far too big for her to handle on her own. There are assassin's out for her head, king's thirsting for her blood, and an underground network of people who live for her ruin. But there is also an unlikely Prince to defend her, who has some tricks of his own to rely on. The Princess soon sees that she is not nearly as alone as she may have once thought. What will Lyra do when she comes to terms with her destiny? Will she face it this time with her new friends, or will she chose to run away again? Cover made by @-rebellixus-

Let me put it like this. I was perfectly okay with letting my friends take the stage. I didn't have a problem with being in stage crew, working the lights, helping other students rehearse their lines and songs. I didn't want to be center-stage, all eyes on me, all attention on me. I was quite fond of being behind the curtain. That was until the snobby, egotistical, no doubt handsome, male lead pushed me into the spotlight.

A "Beauty and the Beast" retelling. Once upon a time, there was a boy in love with a Lilly. Not a flower, but a girl. It all started one beautiful autumn day. One autumn day that would change the boy's life forever. For on this day, he met Lilly, a beautiful girl with an ugly secret. A secret that threatens to destroy her if she cannot find a way to break the curse forced upon her. Filled with secrets, lies, and love, this short story captures the essence of the original fairy tale with an entirely new twist. ~~~ "Hello, my name is Lilly. What's yours? Is that your mother? I only just came to live here with Ivy, and I don't know many people that come to visit her yet. Do you come often? If you do, we could be friends! Would you like that? To be friends? Why, don't you speak at all? And you should really close your mouth; it is impolite to stare like that." Ivy called out to her from the doorway of the cottage. "Lilly, if you want him to speak, you must first cease speaking." Both of the women were laughing at the children, and Lilly blushed at the comment. "Sorry! I just haven't seen anyone my age yet, and I got excited, which happens rather easily. It reminds me a bit of puppies I've read about that just get so excited that they- oops. I'm doing it again. Sorry," she said with a shy smile. Adam, who had been standing there staring, just as she had pointed out, finally found his voice long enough to tell her his name. She beamed at him, saying that they would be great friends. She seized his hand and began tugging him toward the woods behind the cottage, shouting to Ivy and his mother, "We won't go far! Be back soon!" ~~~
