"Pretty boy." "Princess." *** This world is full of wings. The more loved you are, the larger your wings grow to be. It's a status symbol. The larger the wings, the more you get out of life. Alexander's wings are huge and weighted. He gets what he wants. Life loves him. Alexa's wings broke off years ago, the last feathers being torn off by the wind as it ripped the tears away from her cheeks while she rode on her motorcycle. She gets Alexander's scraps. But when Alexander gets shot because of Alexa, the two realize, in the most delicately violent ways possible, all the ways in which one person could possibly need another. *** WINNER OF @TheGoldenAwards2k18 's 2017 GENRE AWARD FOR CHICKLIT, SECOND PLACE WINNER OF @TheRoyaltyAwards 's 2018 MERLIN AWARD WINNER OF @TheRiseAwards 's 2018 TEEN FICTION GENRE AWARD, 2018 WINNER OF THE S&E AWARDS TEEN FICTION GENRE AWARD, 2018 *** This book contains a lot of triggering content, including rape, suicide, drug abuse, physical abuse, and self harm. The flames took everything from Phoenix; now they want her, too. ***** Shadows cast down upon a realm far from our existence bring four teens right into the open arms of a distant memory, trying to force her way back home. Shane, Shyanne, Kayla, and Phoenix are plucked from their very different lives and tossed into a world of the past dreams of their fellow humans called The Dream Void. A terrible curse fell upon this land, known only as The Nightmare. When this devious memory kidnaps Kayla, the remaining three must team up with a boy made of leaves, three tiny girls with wings, a horse with a skull for a face, and many other creatures that can be found only in the deepest parts of the human mind. Survival. That's what's most important when you move high schools, right? Just trudge on through to graduation day. That was my plan when I moved from Nevada to New Hampshire. On my first day at Brookeside High, I happened upon a girl I can't get out of my mind. Stereotypical, but Alice is anything but. She's... Indescribable. I'm not just "surviving" anymore. I actually get up in the morning to see her. Her goofy friends are pretty great too, I guess, but I just want her. Alice Gennulson changed my life. I hope we live long enough to see me change her's too. --- Thanks to @Twenty_Nine for this beautiful new cover!!
