The overall reception of fifth and final book in the selection series has been less than satisfactory. Many would say this is due to it feeling rushed and I dare say the majority of Selectioners felt Eadlyn ended up with the wrong person. In this alternate ending which jumps in right after Hale leaves in Chapter 29 but right before she goes to propose to Kile, Eadlyn gets a visit from her mother that sets her thoughts on a course she realizes she should have been on all along.

This book is a sequel to my other book, The Selection (Where the King is Nice) Please read that book before you read this one. If you don't, this story probably won't make sense. The King is nice in all categories. He doesn't discriminate because of the girls' castes or anything. However, when a certain project comes up, people start to hate other people's guts. There will also be some plot changes from The Elite. (The one that Kiera Cass wrote) Everything is Kiera Cass' except for characters I make up or plot changes I make.
