Mary cannot move. She cannot blink or swallow or ask for help. To the real world, she appears to sleep. But she is very much awake and aware of the torture she must endure. Mary suffers from a nightmarish condition—Locked-In Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder resulting from a rather ordinary bump on the head. She struggles within the rotting gulag that was once her body. She strives to get help from her husband, Sam. But what can he do for her, when all of advanced medicine knows little about healing the human brain? Every second is an eon. She is alone--or is she? Who owns the voice that speaks within the echoing chambers of her consciousness? The voice claims to help. But is it just another demon born of her personal hell? Can she hope to survive her new, brutal reality? Will her own wiles carry her intact through the experience? Or will her sanity crumble at the seams?

Six teens are devoted to a game with one rule: If a player gets tagged, they must change their life within the next fifteen minutes. The better the player, the bigger the change. One might give their car away, or punch the school bully. Another might change identities or sacrifice their virginity. Anything to keep evolving, to avoid fitting into a label or caring about the junk they own. But their quest for enlightenment has taken a rotten final turn - one of the players has murdered the game's creator, the teen prophet (cult leader?) David Bloom. Our narrator is being framed for the crime; can he clear his name and discover which of his lifelong friends is the murderer before he takes the fall? [sic] is a gritty teen murder mystery that delves into the psychology of enlightenment among the criminally dysfunctional.

Hello there! My name is Willow. I'm almost 16 years old and if Jon Lennon and Avril Lavigne got together and created a musical child, that would be me! My mom and Aunt Wisty sent me to a summer camp for the first time ever. It's this place for teens with musical talent called Camp Blue Jeans and it seems really cool here. Something else that's really cool about the camp is that they let me bring my rabbit, Scones!! The girls in my cabin, Lilly, Max and Bea, are some of the coolest people I've ever met and I can tell that I'm going to have an awesome time! The other day I ran into a kid named Ferrior (actually quite literally) and he seems really sweet but he never talks to anyone but me. Is he just shy? Or is it something else?… My name is Ferrior. I'm 16 years old and I've been going to Camp Blue Jeans for 2 years now. I have a year-old rat named Styx and I don't really have any friends. The other day I ran into this girl down by the lake. She seems different from the others, she didn't judge me like everyone else did when they saw my black skinny jeans and purple-streaked hair. She's one of the most amazing people I've ever met and her voice is breathtaking. It's beautiful, like a songbird.....

It's always been the two of us since I remember, as Tom (my dad) left us when I was just a toddler. He never accepted mum's complete dedication to music and I think this is what caused them to break up. I'll never forgive him for giving up on us, and even more for not being there when mum fell ill. But he was too busy raising his new family I guess. And now that we have to live under the same roof, I feel like he’s no more than a stranger to me. Fortunately, I still have my music. No matter what happens around me, I know that I can always find refuge in music. It's hard to explain but as I sit at the piano the world hushes and my soul starts to sings. And I still have my Big Dream - to get into Julliard and become a great pianist as my Mum. The most famous conservatory in the world and New York City are waiting for me! I just have to nail an important audition that is just a few weeks away.. Fingers crossed!!
