Hiccup was having a strange day, that's for sure. After all, it's not every day you get mysteriously sent back to the life you lived, 5 years ago. Hiccup (from HTTYD2) gets sent back in time to HTTYD1 AU.

It's been days after the battle of the Red Death. Days since Dragons and Viking united and days since, the young boy, Hiccup was gravely injured defeating the Red Death. He's recovering well. His life is okay for now. Has a good relationship with Astrid and the other teens. But everything changes when he discovered something secret about his life.

Before the red death battle, Hiccup decided to run away. He doesn't wants to be murderer, a monster. So, he runs away with his bestfriend, toothless. While he runs away, stoick blames himself for losing his one and only son. Astrid feels sorry because of always being rude to him. Snoutlout, who seems to be happy about hiccup being gone. But in inside he feels sorry and blames himself. Fishlegs, asks himself why didn't he be his friend when he got the chance. Gobber, is sad because his forge friend is gone, because the clever but weak inventor boy is gone. But you know, not everyone is sad. In the other hand, there is hiccup who is having the best times of his life. Being free is everything to him. And well, when there is somebody who accepted you with your all mistakes, life is just great.

Hiccup actually does runaway when he learns he will have to kill a dragon and meets a band of pirates.

AU where Hiccup was raised with dragons in the sanctuary. While on a journey, he and Toothless crash land on berk. As they explore the island, they discover the village. Looking for materials to fix Toothless' tail fin, he finds the forge and during the night, sneaks in to get supplies. Only to be found by fearless Astrid Hofferson, who didn't expect to see an intruder. But what he shows her, leaves her anything but fearless. As a baby hiccup was taken away from Berk for 20 years. No one apart from Stoick and Valka know he's missing or possibly dead or so they think. But when Astrid goes for a walk into the woods after a frustrating day maybe just maybe there is a glimmer of hope.
