What happened to these children should never had happened to anyone and the number of people complicent in the secrets that ruined their lives was beyond understanding. This story describes the visit to Barbara Frietchie's house by Winston Churchill and Franklin D Roosevelt when they stopped at Frederick, Md in May 1943 on their way back to Washington after spending the weekend at Shangri-la (Camp David). The story also considers the arguments against the authenticity of the events as described in Mr. Whittier's poem, which remains, nonetheless, an uplifting call to action for those who would be otherwise oppressed.

Children shouldn't have to play with IV lines attached to the back of their hands. But they do. Cancer made it so. Here are some stories of some of those brave kids I have met in some of those playrooms. To be honest I never wanted to able to tell these stories. I didn't want to have a reason to go into those rooms. But, as bad luck would have it, I will visit these rooms on and off for a while with my grandson Andre. There is sadness here, but there is also so much hope.

Based on a true story. By all accounts, Jorge Salas was a good man. He was a well known and well respected businessman, doting husband, and loving father. Many of the older officers in the department knew him well. Unfortunately, when I first met him he was lying dead in the office of his own business with 3 bullets in him. Follow me while I chase rumors of cartel assassins, disgruntled employees, missing money, bloated insurance claims, and a cheating wife. The truth will shock you.

Something has happened recently in the state where I live, something so bad that it's difficult to believe it's real. I have a lot of personal connections with the city it's happened to, and some slight connections with the person responsible. After watching this disaster unfold over the last few months, and feeling heartbroken and helpless, I finally decided I had to write down my feelings about it.
