"What was it like to witness the creation of the universe?" "Terrifying." When Atara, Merc, Cal and Lilith wake to darkness, they're each more than a little afraid. With no memory of who they were before, and with the universe bursting violently to life around them, they must work together to survive and to get home - wherever that may be. Because the longer they stay in this dark new world, the harder it is to do so. © 2015 by shayebay This novel is entirely a work of fiction. Two hundred years into the future, society is recovering from global collapse, and genetic modification has saved the remaining population from a hunger crisis. Designer children have been the city's best-kept secret for years, but strange side effects are now appearing as they hit adolescence. When a freak suicide forces modification into the public eye, eighteen-year-old Astrid is about to learn how difficult it is to stay under the radar when you really were born to stand out.

Genevieve Salvatore is just a nineteen year old girl attending university to become a mathematician. But she is not ordinary nor is she normal like her fellow classmates - in fact, she's far from that. She began having nightmares right after her fourteenth birthday and all those nightmares were the same every single time, the same events happening over and over again. Nothing changes in her nightmares that are all frightfully terrifying until the day she meets the man who offers her protection inside of them. Thrown into a world where everything is still new to her, where she needs to fight temptation against Alastair Ignacio - the man who she sees in her nightmares before she even meets him - and where she needs to learn about herself as well as the truth about the world she belongs to, Genevieve faces difficulties and choices she could never have fathomed coming across. It isn't too soon that she realises that there is more truth to what meets the eye and that she has a heavy responsibility laying on her shoulders. The fate of it all relies in her hands. { Copyright © republicans. All Rights Reserved }

After the death of his mother's boyfriend, Gavin Byrnes is sent to live with his father and his family in the upper class neighborhood - also respectfully known as the "town of riches." With the hope that he'll leave in five months on his eighteenth birthday, he makes the decision to keep his head down and avoid any emotional contact with the family. But with a father who wants to "get to know him", a step-mother who doesn't know how to take a no for an answer, a talkative half-brother, a half-sister who gets in too much trouble, another who is a bit on the secretive side, and not to mention juggling his long-not-so-long distance relationship with his boyfriend, Gavin will find himself in situations where he will not only have no control, but also learn how it is to be part of a family. **cover by queenofbel-air **edited by catchingmystars [ short story #666 ]

Jas gives me a sympathetic look. She sighs heavily, long nails tapping against the wooden table, dodging the 'Missing' posters scattered all over the surface. "Maybe," she finally says, "Just maybe, he doesn't want to be found, Ava." I clench my jaw. "No. I refuse to believe that. He's not like that." "What do you know?" Jas snorts, finally withdrawing her hand from the table and turning back to look at me. "You don't even know him." xx Ford Wilson was in three out of four of Ava Jackson's classes. They had one mutual friend, did a project together once in sophomore year, and had the same lunch. When Ava's car had broke down, she had even ended up parked outside of Ford's house, asking for gas. In Ava's life, he was everywhere. And yet, she didn't notice him until he was nowhere to be found.

"My name is Jace Overton, and I have schizophrenia." Mr. Stevenson stood from his desk, his eyes widening and surprise slapping him in the face as if he'd just discovered vibranium. "Wow, so you're a schizophrenic?" My mom told me there were three kinds of people in the world: people that didn't care, people that cared enough, and people that cared too much. He was definitely the third type of person. "No, I have schizophrenia. I am not a schizophrenic." "Is there a difference?" I stared at him blankly, "I wouldn't have corrected you if there wasn't." ----- Jace is weird. Jace has a blunted affect, a knack for memorizing, and a strong attraction to a Pakistani girl named Elizabeth. He also has a distant father, an overbearing psychiatrist and two best friends that get him into situations (some of which end with his nose [and heart] being broken). He has a sister that's ten years his senior, daily medication, serious hatred for the color white and a mere four years to accomplish the following things: 1) Make his parents fall in love with each other again. 2) Make Elizabeth fall in love with him. 3) Get people to understand that he has schizophrenia, he is not a schizophrenic. The former is attached to an identity while the latter is a label. A CampNaNoWriMo Novel
