The quiet seaside town called Brookside has many secrets. Sixteen year old Lewis Davies mourns the death of his childhood friend Emily. She was quiet, intelligent, strange and in some other place where Lewis couldn't find her. An old man moves in next door in the very same house where Emily used to live. Lewis is drawn to the house and the man inside of it. The appearance of Emily's old diary, the new girl Miranda and the old man next door turns his world upside down, shakes it and will never let him go back to who he used to be.
