Suddenly thrust into a realm where immortal gods and monsters reign, Elle is forced to navigate a world she never knew existed. Reluctantly, she must ally with Jack, a man she is desperate to avoid. Neither of them is thrilled about the impending marriage, but as dark plots and secrets emerge, Elle and Jack find themselves drawn together by forces beyond their control. With threats mounting and fate closing in, Elle must confront her destiny, knowing that defying it could lead to her demise. I was sitting on a bench at a bus stop, with no idea how I got there or why, only that I was supposed to be there. My head hurt and my mind was fuzzy, and I couldn't remember anything. Frantically, I searched my brain for something that would make sense of the situation. This is what I came up with: My name was Ella. I was female. That's where the personal information ended. I was waiting for a buss that would take me where I belonged, where there would be other kids like me. That's where the situational information ended. I had abilities that no one could no the full extent of, and if another kid found out, someone would gladly kill me because of it. I was in danger at all times. Lastly, I could control the elements. Journey Durant's father warned her, "Someday you'll have to lie in the bed you've made." But she didn't believe him... until now. She has just received news that her ex-boyfriend is about to be released from prison, and this reformed bad girl can't shake the feeling that her troubled past is coming home with him. The town of Emerson, Georgia has forgiven and forgotten her involvement in the most publicized tragedy in the town's history, but only because of her three-year absence, her prominent Southern Baptist family, and her marriage to the closest thing her small town has to a superhero. Bullets and emotions fly, leaving Journey to realize that no matter what penance she has done for her past, the mistakes of her youth still carry unpaid penalties. The Wattpad version of The Bed She Made is dedicated to my niece, @neondark.
