This story takes place after Mocking jay but instead of Peeta coming home with Katniss he is kept at the capitol because Katniss wants to stay safe. Gale comes home with her to the victors village to live with her. Katniss soon falls in love with Gale again.

This story is set post-Mockingjay, following Panem's rebellion. It chronicles Gale Hawthorne's struggles with the blame placed upon him for the death of Primrose Everdeen. This one-shot was written with the intent of opening people's eyes. It is this author's personal opinion that Gale was cast off unfairly and in a way he did not deserve.
