Cassandra de Rolo is the last surviving member of her family. Once a proud noble house that ruled over the mountain city of Whitestone, the de Rolos have been brutally destroyed, and their name has fallen into darkness. Whitestone has no leader, the city is held under the thumb of the de Rolo's murderers, and now the people look to Cassandra: the last of her bloodline, to lead them in a desperate bid for freedom. The shadows of night are growing deeper, the city isn't safe anymore, hope is a thing of the past, and some people are not what they seem.
