When Mereniver Hador, a girl in her late teens, is discovered to be a memaid, she has to run. She flees into the forest in hopes that she will never be found but of course that is not the case. The Company of Thorin Oakensheild does not know what to make of her. They want her to come along but their leader doesn't want anything to do with her but she has no choice. She can go back to her old life and be sold to the highest bidder, or she can follow the dwarves, where her fate is uncertain. Which will she choose? And when she does, what will become of her? Please give my story a chance, it will take a few chapter before it gets going, I am open to feedback. Pandora is one of the last of a legendary race. Her kind lived hidden in the mountains for generations, but it did not last. An evil discovers them, killing all but a scattered few. She and a small band of others set out in hopes to find a safe haven with old allies of their kind, but things are very different now than they were in the tales of old.

While at his cousin Dains, Thorin finds a Broken witch in his dungeons. She tells him that he needs her for his journey to be successful. She joins the company, adding perils and defeating some, all while trying to cling to her own sanity.

Her green eyes sparkled as she tossed a small pebble at the stranger's feet before giggling. The mischevious little one then toddled off a bit to chase a butterfly that had caught her attention. "She cannot stay here." Beorn said. "It is unsafe for a child. I do not want her to... be exposed. To my other form." "You seem to forget that she is your daughter." The wizard replied, shifting as a small breeze came through the forest. "And I am not trained in the art of raising children." The two men momentarily turned their gazes back to young Kyja, who was too occupied following the winged insect. Compassion soon struck the wizard's heart. "Yet... there is someone that could care for her. He is an odd fellow, relates more to animals than any other living creature- but he is genuinely kind, and will be able to assist Kyja in the following years. Radagast the Brown is his name." And so, the journey begins. Far into adulthood, Kyja is introduced to a completely new world when Gandalf proposes an offer- to join a band of dwarves to help them save their homeland. Haunted by past memories and scars, the skin-changer is forced to come to terms with her own history while accepting the new fate she has been given. Meghan loves the Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit. One walk in the woods would have her end up in the fantasy world where the story takes place. But she came at the wrong time, because Smaug is awakening, and the only way she can find her way home again is to embark on a journey with thirteen dwarves, a wizard, and a hobbit.
