ഒറ്റപ്പെടലിന്റെ വേദന അറിയുന്നത് നമുക്ക് ചുറ്റും കുടുംബം നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നിട്ടും ഒറ്റക്കാണ് എന്ന നമ്മുടെ തോന്നലുകൾ അല്ല.. സംരക്ഷണം കൊടുക്കേണ്ട മാതാപിതാക്കൾ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു കുടുംബം കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും മനസ്സിന്റെ വേദന മനസ്സിലാക്കാതെ അകറ്റി നിർത്തപ്പെടുമ്പോളാണ്... അനാഥമായ ബാല്യവും കൗമാരവും ജീവിച്ചു തീർക്കുമ്പോൾ കിട്ടുന്ന ഓരോ പുഞ്ചിരി പോലും അവർക്ക് അത്ഭുതമാണ്... അങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ഒരു അനാഥയുടെ കഥയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കം... അവൾ ജഫ്ന അഹ്‌മദ്‌... അവളുടെ ജീവിതം എന്താണെന്ന് പുറമെ നിന്നും നമുക്കൊന്ന് വീക്ഷിക്കാം...അല്ലേ ??? ഞാൻ അമ്മീയുടെ മുഖത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി, അമ്മിയുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ സന്തോഷം കാണാൻ എനിക്ക് സാധിച്ചില്ല... "ഞാൻ.... ഞാൻ എടുത്ത തീരുമാനം തെറ്റാണോ???" ഞാൻ എന്നോട് തന്നെ സ്വയം ചോദിച്ചു. ആ മുഖം മനസ്സിലേക്ക് വന്നപ്പോൾ തീരുമാനം തെറ്റായി തോന്നിയില്ല... എന്നാലും... "ഇന്നെന്റെ നിക്കാഹ്.... ഇത്ര പെട്ടന്ന്.... ഞാൻ എന്റെ അനിയത്തിക്കുട്ടിയെ നോക്കി. എന്റെ നിക്കാഹിനെ കുറിച്ച് എന്നേക്കാൾ സങ്കൽപ്പങ്ങൾ അവൾക്കായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നു പക്ഷെ അവളുടെ മുഖത്ത് ആ ആവേശമോ സന്തോഷമോ ഒന്നും തന്നെയില്ല. "എന്റെ തീരുമാനം തെറ്റായിപ്പോയോ....???" ഞാൻ വല്ലാത്തൊരു അവസ്ഥയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.
