The story centres around a 17 year old boy named Drake, nicknamed Dai. He's cynical, inconsiderate and wants nothing more than a regular and boring life. He discovers a temporary change of heart when he chivalrously saves a child from a speeding car, though dies in the process. He and a being from another world levitate above Drake's corpse. "Whether our meeting is coincidence or not, I'm willing to give your life back." It was the end of Drake's boring life and the start of an adventure that could break him or fix him. He'd been run over by a car while trying to save a child that didn't need saving. Then revived by a shinigami, Dai finds his life in ruins. An appearance of a tall, silhouetted man who knows everything about him and a past he never thought existed suddenly force itself into his first few days of high school.
