{As featured in the Hearts on Sleeves Anthology} It'd be poetic to say that Magda left Tucson and never looked back, but it wouldn't be true. While Seattle has its charms, it's missing a few things, like good weather and her friends. And one friend in particular, who dropped off the planet as soon as the moving truck left town. Back in Tucson for the first time in four years, Magda would love to hang out with those very friends. Instead, she's stuck at her twin cousins' quinceañera party, and on Valentine's Day, no less. Surrounded by freshmen and her poison-tongued aunt, she decides to make the best of a bad situation and look for familiar faces to keep the boredom at bay. It's an exercise in futility. Magda decides that it's pointless to keep looking-but she's about to learn that the things we look for the hardest are often hidden in plain sight.

To save her family from scandal, Emily Collicott must marry. Ruined in her first season in London, she is given no choice but to wed her father's pick for a husband, or be cast out from her home. Emily agrees to marry William Hazlitt, a man she hardly knows. But William remembers her. Growing up as a tenant on her father's estate, he admired her from afar, their lives kept separate first by class, and then by loss. Emily seeks to begin a new life with this quiet man to whom she finds herself wedded. But the scandal she escaped in London soon finds her again, the very man who destroyed her reputation threatening to tear down the happiness she's found with her new husband. To keep from losing everything, she must either make a deal with a devil... or learn how to destroy one.

**2016 WATTYS WINNER FOR VISUAL STORYTELLING** Letting her appearance fall to the wayside and desperate to find a reason for her life, Marilyn sits half naked in an Urgent Care examination room with a mysterious skin itch. If she can survive the humiliation of being treated by a sexy male nurse while unraveling the hidden drama woven throughout the hospital staff, Marilyn might leave the hospital cured far below the surface of her skin. NURSE McSEXY is a hilariously enhanced true story (with a healthy dose of fiction) about my mortifying experience involving an allergic reaction, Urgent Care and a sexy male nurse. It was an evening in which one of my greatest fears was encountered--only to reveal my better self on the other side of humiliation. This humorous tale is definitely worth calling in sick for! TO CLARIFY: Despite the title, this is not a tale about a hot and sweaty romance. I mean--I wish it was since it's based on a true story. Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), my life is a lot more on the belly laughing side of the spectrum than the steaming up mirrors side. Just saying.
