The short story Of a mans long lost love gives him the best years of his life. Their relationship slowly begins to fade, soon enough the shining spark of their passion dims to a lifeless, dull flash of nothingness. He later realizes the only problem between them is the fifteen year break in their relationship. He has no way of showing his grief until he suffers severe trauma to his head from a car collision, which brings them both together. On his death bed he reaches out for his love and says," Before I leave, I think I love you." His near death experience gave him the hope to say what he truly felt inside.
