Kana's life gets turned around when she gets the news of being taken into yet another foster home. She goes to her new school and she meets Ashley S. Martin-Collins, the headmaster's daughter who is also her roommate. But her odd roommates aren't the only thing strange happening at River Fork, mutants monsters, deadly snowball fights, nosebleeds, and a voice in her head aren't the only things Kana will face. After all, a girl can't survive on a dagger she found in the woods alone. Making friends is hard but staying alive and not getting killed before the test on Monday is harder.
