Charles Xavier works in a hospital for the mentally ill. He's new, he doesn't know many patients or people. However, when Moira MacTaggert gives up on her patient, Charles steps in and volunteers to take him on. And this 'incurable' patient might just change his life.

Amberle Foster has been in attendance at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters since her mutation made itself known. While she has always remained in the background of the growing academy, the recent defeat of Apocalypse has brought certain students to the fore front of attention. One of whom is a boy with lasers for eyes, Scott Summers. While Amberle must wear gloves to keep her abilities from non-consensually working on others, Scott faces a similar dilemma- he must wear specially crafted glasses to keep from blowing things up. The two would be considered complete opposites.
