Peridot could not be more nervous when she went off to college to study robotics, chemistry, biology... "that smart stuff", as her friend Jasper calls it. She's pretty tiny and a clean freak, and she didn't want a roommate, but here she was. Lapis, on the other hand, figures she can just blow through college and pursue the arts. Music, painting... heck, maybe even being a swim coach would work out for her. As she begins to walk up the stairs to her dorm building, she wonders what her roommate would be like. Hopefully not OCD like Pearl, her sister. That was a nightmare.

When Lapis and Jasper finally unfuse, Jasper is bubbled and stored away in the temple, while Lapis is working with the gems. At first Lapis teases Peridot with kisses and cuddles, But when Peri develops actual feelings for Lapis, things get complicated.
