in a world where your moods are visible above your head, displayed through pictures and icons, it's impossible to hide your true feelings. however dan howell seems to be lacking this. labelled as an emotionless freak, dan is outcasted because his moods are never visible. that is, until an endlessly happy boy named phil wonders why.

Dan is different. He's learned to accept that. Well, as best he can anyway, considering he's never really had much of a choice. It's been this way for as long as he can remember, the constant runaround process of trying to feel normal. His life is built around it, trying to trick both himself and everyone he interacts with into seeing him as your average person. The isolation as he desperately tries to keep others from finding out, the bitterness that wells up inside of him each and every time he's reminded that he'll never be like everyone else, the fear that nothing will ever change. He's fated to be this way forever; a misfit from society. Isolation can only go so far though, so when he's struggling to make ends meet and he's faced with the option of looking into a serious job or taking on a roommate, he opts for what seems like the easier option at the time. It doesn't seem so easy ten failed roommates into the process, or when he sits down at a table to meet with prospect number eleven and ends up with a coffee spilled all over his lap. Potential roommate number eleven, Phil, turns out to be an insufferable optimistic ball of sunshine that Dan wants nothing to do with. His options are running out though, as are the savings he's been using to pay his rent, so he finds himself begrudgingly agreeing to let the other man move in. Neither of them have any way of knowing just what they've gotten themselves into as they shake on the matter, but time will tell.

Phan AU. In a world where super powers plague people all over the world, Dan Howell fights to keep his emotions and pyrokinesis under control. After years of success, Dan is outed and whisked away to a school that claims to teach him to use his abilities "safely". Still unable to control the fire that seems to rage under his skin, Dan's only solace is in his roommate Phil, who can't seem to stop turning things to ice. While trying to end the corruption at the school, the team discovers the real reason they're being held. In an explosion of fist fights, supersuits, and betrayal, Dan and Phil try to do what they feel is right.

Phil is a vampire who believes that humans and night creatures should live amongst each other in harmony. Dan is a vampire hunter, part of the clan, and believes that vampires like Phil don't exist.

AU where Dan the prince falls in love with Phil his protector. They are forbidden to be together but a war shows Dan's parents how much Phil means to him. Fluff and a little angst

Phil doesn't have a best friend in his life. That is, until Dan turns up at his school. They become close and Phil finds out that Dan has a twin brother, but hates to talk about him. It's not until Phil comes over to Dan's house that he finds out why.

Phil Lester hasn't had the best past. He was bullied and tormented because of his sexuality and had no friends for a long time. He then moved to London where he met Chris and PJ who help get his life back on track again. Suddenly he's under a spell when 'The Lonely Prince' - Dan Howell walks into the room and smiles at him. Every time Phil sees Dan he gets butterflies in his stomach. Someone from his past is out for Phil and will do anything to prevent Dan from getting close to him. This is just creative writing. Phil Lester is a shy, awkward, talented tattoo artist. One day, a flower shop opens across the street from the tattoo shop, called " Violets and Virtues" Phil thinks he'll find no interest in the pastel place, when he meets Dan Howell, a florist who works front desk, and is completely smitten. PREVIOUSLY CALLED PASTEL AND PUNK Dan Howell and Phil Lester are best friends, Phil being respected due to him having a punk look, and Dan being looked down upon for his own pastel one. Dan begins to receive letters, though, in his locker. They start friendly but slowly get more flirty... and Dan doesn't mind. He wonders who it is though, and even starts to wonder a few things about himself too. Who keeps sending him this letters mysteriously signed "L", and are they really as nice as they sound?
