Exactly what the title says. James feels like he's going to collapse after something everyone thought would Never happen does. And Lily thought she knew everything about her best friend, evidently she missed one big detail.

Remus is depressed. Sirius knows this. Sirius is anxious. Remus knows this. They're just two broken boys. The Moon and The Stars; they know each other like the back of their hands.
