M. Ö. 209 – Esik, Orta Asya Mete Han, Çin'e karşı baskısını sürdürmektedir. Boy beylerini bir araya toplayarak son darbeyi indirmeyi planlamaktadır. Büyük bir azimle Orta Asya'da Türk birliğini sağlayabilmiş ve döneminin en güçlü askeri gücünü oluşturmayı başarmıştır. Gelecek nesilde bir Türk kağanıyla (Göktürklerin hükümdarlarından) adaş olacağını bilmeyen Mukan, çok sevdiği ağabeyi İrnek'in yuğ adı verilen cenaze törenindeyken başlar bu Türk mitolojileri ve dönemin tarihi figürleriyle dopdolu hikayemiz. Bir yandan şamanizmin doruklarında mistik olaylar baş gösterirken, bir yandan da Çin entrikalarıyla uğraşmak zorunda kalan Mete Han'ın sıradaki hamlesi beklenmektedir. Mukan'ın babası diğer boy beyleriyle bir kurultaya katılacaktır ve kurultayın başkanlığını ise bizzat Mete Han yapacaktır. Mukan ise hayallerinde hep yanyana savaştığını gördüğü kahramanıyla tanışmak için sabırsızlanırken bir yandan da ağabeyinin kaybıyla içi buruktur. Orta Asya Türk kültürünü yansıtması açısından o döneme has terimler ve kelimeler dile ağır bir ton katmış olabilir. Bu nedenle bölüm sonlarına sözlük konulacaktır ve sözlükte yer alan kelimeler ise hikaye içerisinde yıldız işaretiyle gösterilecektir. Böylece hikaye akışı da engellenmemiş olacaktır. If you're judging this book by its cover and title, you're already proving the point this story wants to make. Try to move past this satirical obstacle in front of you. This is a story about bullying, and like the hundreds of other books on the topic, it will show you the harsh reality of being discriminated, belittled, ridiculed for something you cannot control- how you look, who you love, or what you believe in. But unlike these books, this story's sole purpose is not to tear your heart out of your chest as you mourn over your loss of faith in humanity. Instead, this book will make you laugh and love alongside these characters.
