Lady Victoria Schmidt is about to become a princess - but only by name. With her marriage to Prince Jefferson Jefferson III, she would become queen in name only, to 'rule' by his side. The laws of the country say that she could never truly have any power though, and these laws have been in place since the beginning of the monarchy of the New American Colonies. Victoria has always agreed with these laws (if only to spare her and her sister a beating from their father), but when her wedding is crashed by a supposedly disbanded group of rebellious women who call themselves the Revolutionaries, her life begins to change forever. Victoria is taken to the headquarters of the Revolutionaries as a hostage for the laws regarding women in the country to be rewritten. This is a plan that has been going on for nearly five years, ever since Victoria became engaged to the prince - and since Victoria's mother was murdered. Secrets surrounding her mother's death are revealed one at a time by the mysterious leader of these women, secrets that no one living was supposed to know. She's always known about the mystery behind her mother's death, known that her friends (and more than friends) at the palace knew something that she didn't. But she couldn't just go around asking them if it was her father that killed Audrey Schmidt... With threats of death for treason looming over her, Victoria must make a decision - and she must make it alone, something she's never been permitted to do. Her entire life, her father has chosen things for her; what to wear, how long her hair may be, where she could go, her entire life planned out before her. And now, she must decide for herself - risk her life to save her future, or sit back and watch the world burn. ***Thank you Anahlynn for the beautiful cover!!!

When she's presented with the chance to work on a top secret project fronted by her idol, renowned virologist Dr. Margot Miller, Rowan signs her life away without second thought. The realization she's gotten in over her head comes only after the subject of their study is revealed: a boy with a bad attitude and an uninhibited taste for human blood. He's a medical anomaly. Having the ability to crush metal with his bare hands and hear a heartbeat from across the room, it would make Rowan's career if she was the one to discover what made him so unusual. Hopelessly depressed, orphaned teen Jill attempts to end her life by jumping in front of a subway train but is stopped by Alexander, a handsome young man who begins to change her life for the better. Then comes Anette, a cancer-battling fourteen-year-old girl with a strong will and a beautiful heart. She enters Jill's life in an unusual way and teaches her that human beings are pefectly capable of fighting their battles, even when it's a fight against themselves. Through Alexander, Anette, and her other friends, Jill experiences an array of new emotions that are more positive than she could ever hope for. She also begins to realize that even Alexander might have some scars of his own as well as witnessing Anette's unrelenting strength and determination. This is a story about love, loss, and the healing of a teenage girl's broken mind and heart through the friendship and courage of others. "You were just a handsome boy, your bright future and hopes and dreams and endless happiness etched invisibly onto your face. I was just a broken girl, all my pain and nightmares and thoughts scratched onto my arms. Except they weren’t invisible."
