"But I'm your-" "I'm your what?!" He cut her off. She flinched at the acidity in his voice. "My wife?" He scoffed inching in on her until he was arms length. His eyes bored into the depths of her soul. He slurred the words with venom dripping from his tone. "You're only a signed contract, nothing more!" * * * "What's that shit doing on your face? you better remove it! you can't be walking on the streets of Chicago wearing that, this isn't your filthy Pakistan!" he ruthlessly spoke with disgust. "You mean my veil?" She questioned with fear placing a hand on her Niqab. "If it isn't obvious" "Please, don't call it that, it's my veil, my identity" "I'm sorry what?" "I can't remove it Saahir, p-please don't make me do this, its a part of me" she begged on the verge of tears. "I said take it off!" He yelled in a deep menacing voice and pulled it off her face throwing it mercilessly on the floor. Fresh tears pooled from her eyes Frustration built through him. He grabbed her shoulder and forcefully dragged her pushing her onto the floor. The floor hit Meeza harder than she had expected. "Oww" she yowled as the pain shot through her shoulder. "Be my wife", a voice spoke in front of me blocking enough the light. He was a tall dark figure in the night, as he stood looking down at her. Keeping my voice conversational, I asked him without looking up. "You're actually blocking the light sir", "Hi, Laila", Denying myself, the voice had always sounded familiar. \\

After many years, many edits, and over 500k reads on Wattpad, The Divide is finally published on Amazon! It's 2028, and Earth has been under attack by an alien species for two years. This human-like alien species, called Emigres, left their planet to start over after ruining it with constant nuclear war. Looking much like us, the only physical difference between humans and Emigres are that the Emigres have violet eyes. After wiping out much of the human race, the Emigres closed off an area of land in the United States and called it the Reserve. Any humans who surrender will be placed in there, and anyone who refuses to surrender is immediately killed. 18-year-old Rachel Collins has spent the last two years in the Reserve, but talk about a group of humans building an army outside the walls has her curious to see what lies beyond them. When her father escapes to join the rebels, Rachel plans her escape as well. What are the Emigres planning, and will the rebels be able to stop it? Rachel is about to find out, and only one thing is certain: the end of our world is the beginning of theirs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Book One in the Soldiers of the Earth series RANKED #8 IN SCIENCE FICTION SELECTED BY THE 5TH WAVE MOVIE FOR STRONG FEMALE LEAD CHOSEN AS WATTPAD BOOK OF THE WEEK: http://cbybookclub.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/book-of-week-wattpad_11.html
