In a world where security cameras prove what you have done and databases define who you are, the few who know how to manipulate the technology can play God. They can change the future; they can alter the past. They can make big money, they can save the world, and they can get away with murder over and over again. Danielle Leaf grew up believing she was safe. Now she knows she was wrong. Award-winning author Jon Evans returns with new heroes and a compulsive, fast-paced story that examines issues of Third World exploitation and the extreme edge of anti-capitalist activism. Invisible Armies is Cold War suspense for the modern age, a thriller that looks behind the power of protests and the politics of big business. Reviews "Thought-provoking ... Invisible Armies is an intriguing, pacy read and Mr Evans shows great potential."-The Economist "A tough-as-nails technothriller... People who aren't morons and like thriller novels ought to read this."-Bruce Sterling "Evans has created a new genre, the travelogue as fast-paced action thriller."-Montreal Gazette About the Author Jon Evans's novels have been published around the world, translated into half a dozen languages, and praised by The Economist, The Times of London, and the Washington Post. His journalism has appeared in Wired, Reader's Digest, The Guardian, The Globe & Mail, and The Times of India, and he writes a weekly column for TechCrunch. He can be found online at www.rezendi.com.

This is a first draft of the sequel to 'Eliza Twitchel and The Haunted Forest'. I have a general sense of the plot but as I write the story, characters and situations will grow and change. This book starts two months after Eliza rescued her sister, Phoebe, from the evil witches in the Haunted Forest. Safe at home, Eliza wants to forget all about the world of Aldaen and get back to a normal life. Problem is--part of the witch Ophelia now lives inside the green heartstone embedded in the bracelet Eliza wears; and she has plans for Eliza.

Fourteen-year-old Jack is a loner who knows little about his family--except that they're all cold-hearted jerks. When his parents send him to live at his grandmother's rooming house, life looks to be taking a turn for the better, until he discovers that nothing at Glastonbury Manor is what it appears. Jack's hopes of being left alone, and enjoying his last summer before high school, are soon dashed. Strange events and even stranger residents only add to a long list of unanswered questions. His grandmother isn't a kindly old lady who bakes cookies, and her freakishly strong housekeeper never says a word. Jack's fellow boarders are Ivy, a surly girl who knows nothing about modern technology, and Mr. Ryan, a soft-spoken ex-soldier with a remarkable number of scars. Jack gave up asking questions about the weird in his life a long time ago, but too much surrounds him at Glastonbury Manor to ignore. Things-he thought only existed in fairy tales-begin to seem possible. Jack tells his story without realizing that it's just a piece of a far greater legend, that some doors shouldn't be opened, and that sometimes... there are good reasons to stay out of a dark forest. Ivy's Tangle is the first book in the Legend of the White Sword series. Readers who enjoy epic fantasy adventures will want to join Jack on his quest. Ivy's Tangle is published, and is available as both a paperback and an eBook.

--Watty winner-- In Victorian London, monster hunting isn't just a job, it's a way of life. Freddie Westman, a reporter for a paranormal magazine, is one of the best in the business, but now it's personal. His childhood friend, Jim Penderry, has disappeared, and the signs point to sinister forces from beyond the grave. If Westman wants to save Jim, he'll have to face his worst fear. No, not fighting a demon with only a cake to hand. Something far more daunting. Sceptical Sophie Penderry doesn't solve mysteries or go on adventures. She's more at home in the library with her nose in The Botanist's Guide to Plants and Fungi. But she puts the science books away to help Westman find her missing brother, whether he likes it or not. Which he really doesn't. Westman is a loner, reluctant to lead anyone into danger. According to him, the supernatural is not just the stuff of folklore and children's nightmares, and a world of black magic awaits them. Now Westman must decide if he should push Sophie away for her own safety, or take a leap of faith and accept an offer of help and friendship. Either way, time is running out to find Jim, and worse still, they may not make it back in time for tea and biscuits. ~Featured story (Sep 2014 - Aug 2017) ~Selected by R.L. "It's unlike any paranormal book I've read--very smart, very fresh, and very addictive, and very still in my mind." –And Anything Bookish In 1692, when witch trials gripped the community of Salem, Massachusetts, twenty-six children were accused as witches, exiled, and left for dead. Fourteen of them survived. The Survivors is the first installment of the tantalizing tales of the fourteen ill-fated Survivors and their descendants, who have been content in hiding for over three centuries. Isolated on a Montana mountainside, only Sadie, the rogue daughter, dares to abandon the family’s sacred hiding place. But no matter how far Sadie runs, something always pulls her back. On a muggy summer night in Tennessee, she witnesses a shocking scene that will change her life forever. It is the first in a sequence of events that will drag her from the human world she’s sought to belong to for over a century and send her back to her Puritanical family. Sadie is thrown toward an uncertain future filled with cunning witches, mysterious nosferatu shape-shifters, dangerous eretica and vieczy vampires, millennia-old mythology, and the search for her own mortality. After all… HOW DO YOU KILL A SURVIVOR? The Survivors will steal your heart and invade your mind. Fall into the pages of Sadie’s life, a world so frighteningly similar to your own, you’ll find yourself wanting to go to the Montana mountains to find the Survivors for yourself. And it is only the beginning. "The way Ms. Havard has taken the history of the Salem witches and made it her own is truly fascinating... great debut from a talented writer." –DJ DeSmyter, author of Hunted “[THE SURVIVORS is a…] promising debut and an incredibly unique paranormal romance.
