The world we know has lost many people. We have had war, car crashes, bombings, collapsing structures, storms... etc. Half and half, they are the fault of mankind, and of natural causes. Our carelessness has the very capability of destroying colonies worth of people. With this said we all have a chosen fate. We will all die someday and it is planned on the breath of the world's creator. But what if someone could be responsible for the life and death of the certain individuals of all of these incidents? Of course that is a very interesting subject, that most wouldn't want to get into. Some might think it pointless, and some don't even think of such fantasies, you might call it. How could it be possible that one person could just look at all of these innocent people, and choose which are to be saved, and which are to lose their lives? They could be children, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters. The chain could cause even more deaths for years to come, if you didn't choose right. ...But what if I were to tell you there was a person of that sort?

Kate Carter was your average book worm, awkward teenager with no social life and no want for one. Or she was at least, until the day adventure ran her over on the sidewalk, quite literally for that matter. From that moment on she was plunged into a world of myth, magic and prophecy. As if balancing homework and tens of just-for-fun novels she was reading wasn't enough now she has to learn how to fight off demons and keep her real life a secret from her family, the whole time trying not to get eaten by hell hounds.
