We practice for months to perfect 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Football players go out halfway through a game with a broken ankle. We can't, we have to keep going, pretend it doesn't hurt, and smile. Cheer is a dangerous sport. You throw yourself under your flier to save them. I risk my life to do what I love. When we sign up we have to say that we know we could die.
